  • Harmony Park Ballroom (site), Don Kirk (guest) wrote 11 years ago:
Having performed at Harmony Park Ballroom in the late 1950's for Cliffie Stone, I dispute the back door location, that Louie Louie was written. From what Cliffie Stone told me, it was in the dressing room, behind center stage; where he listened to songs that I had been working on; but were not part of the current show. By the 1970's, the venue (not a nightclub, but a Ballroom), the original owner (an Anaheim police officer) had died; and a real estate broker took over ownership of the facility. The new owner renamed it Harmony Hacienda, then changed it into a crafts mall Pepper Tree Fair. Many of the 1930's & 40's Big Bands performed there. Even Jack Benny was on Harmony Park Ballroom's stage.

You're forgetting the more important part: growing trees since the 1950s tended to destroy the scale.

Ha ha, this is twice as expensive as other Fairfield Inn prices ($200 something versus $100 something).
  • Fantasmic!, Andon (guest) wrote 12 years ago:
The name, "Fantasmic!" could also be a cross between Fantastic and Mic (for Mickey), or it could relate to the word Fantasma, which is seeing something in perception only. I don't know the answer (and don't care enough to research it), but it's certainly not "obvious."

  • Haunted Mansion Structure, jopeth wrote 12 years ago:
Actually Uh, none of the Mansion attractions take place within the facade structures that are visible to guests. They all take place within a warehouse. Disneyland's Mansion, however, is the only with an actually functioning elevator, because it is the only one whose warehouse is located outside of the berm (on the outside of the railroad tracks). Tokyo Disneyland does not have a railroad that encircles the park anyway. Hong Kong's version of the mansion, Mystic Manor, will be the first to have its facade structure built outside the park's railroad berm.
