Actually, when I played on this jet back in the 60's it was a real plane. The engine was removed as well as and the instruments in the cockpit. It was just the metal shell of the aircraft but the most awesome thing for a 10 year old to crawl around on and pretend to be a fighter pilot! I don't know when it was encased in cement, I remember seeing it that way years ago and thought how sad; our nanny culture just can't let kids explore and have fun anymore.

"Usually not crowded?!?" Sure - in the middle of February during a rainstorm at 3:14 p.m.!

Mmm, freezer-bitten, too-tough-to-chew veggie burgers! Best entree in the park!

Worst queue in the park - don't bother getting in line without a Fastpass. Cast members at this ride are notorious for letting too many Fastpass holders through at a time and too often, backing up the main line for hours. Whatever the wait time listed at the sign in the front says, be sure to tack on an extra 30 minutes or so.

Possibly the worst ride in Disneyland...a whole 30 seconds of whoop-de-doo.

Didn't someone die on this ride? Or was that at WDW?

I'm not sure why rick was downvoted; he's correct. Several rides in Disney Land are located outside of the park in warehouses due to limited space; the stretching room IS an elevator, and it DOES lead underground, but the underground tunnel quickly takes your carts to a warehouse outside of the park This way guests are kept from thinking they've left the "mansion" they saw from the outside. The Pirates of the Caribbean does use a similar motif, though, as well as at least one other Disney Land ride. The Haunted Mansion at Disney World and other locations are located inside the mansion building themselves, and so the stretching rooms there aren't elevators (the ceiling raises instead).

My thoughts and prayers to all affected by this. I live just a couple of miles away. The amount of ash and smoke make it look like it is snowing.

In the 1970's this was a toystore. I don't know about the "Boston" store, but my nephew worked here when it was a toystore up until the late 70's.

I had a few meals here as well. Not all that great in my opinion, but not bad either. I guess I would have labeled it as average.

I remember kids used to be able to climb inside the jet itself. It was hollow from the intakes in the wings all the way thru the opening in the back. Back in the late 70's a kid got stuck in there and the fire dept had to break some of the concrete forming the fake jet to get him out. Ever since then they sealed up the inside by filling it with concrete. It's amazing how many kids still think this is/was a real plane. :-)
