Is the honky-tonk piano player still at the north end of this building? Decades ago a guest started playing on a piano there and got so popular he was hired. Once the wife and I had been dancing nearby and heard him play a bit of waltz and we did a few dance steps. He smiled and raised an eyebrow. I Hollered TANGO, he played and we blurred through some Argentine Tango then left. Most around us thought we were cast members.

I worked with Wally at a few local venues for a few days in the late 1980's. It was just "ludicrous". ~phiz 8/28/2007

A glittering "33" marked the door at ground level. In the 1990s you could walk in and up the stairs then leave.

Groups over 5 had to pay an extra 15% service charge. They were not warned in advance. My family got tagged this way. Big mistake as I was an airport shuttle driver and warned thousands of Sheraton Hotel guests about this .

It's still there, repainted but, still fenced off and vacant. August 20, 2010.
