The Monsanto House of the Future lasted until 1968. Also, not meaning to be nitpicky, but it's officially 'Tinker Bell' --

Wow. People still listen to Howard Stern?

Lars from Metallica said on the Howard Stern Show last week that Radio City was Metallica's first ever gig.
  • Peter Marshall Elementary School, Amber Dennis (guest) wrote 14 years ago:
Dr. Peter Marshall elementary school was named after Dr. Peter Marshall, a Presbyterian minister, not after Peter Marshall, the entertainer. Here is the correct link to the wikipedia article about the school's namesake: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Marshall_(preacher)

  • PeopleMover And Rocket Rods Tracks, gjsullivan (guest) wrote 14 years ago:
I understand some safety issues around using the old people mover carts, but they need to find some way to bring the ride back. It was a great way to see many parts of the park. And to get a rest after walking around the park all day. Come on Disney, show some of that creativity and find a way to bring this ride back in one form or another. The one at WDW shows that the ride is still popular.

Used to be one of the best rides to chill and wind down until stupid grad night kids had to show off and kill themselves. That sucked. Alot of cool rides are ruined by stupid people and lawyers. I remember back in the 80's when Tron was released and one section of People Mover was dedicated to the light cycle race in the movie. Oh well....still have memories.

Thrilling ride and always gives me a headache afterwards. Yes..call me a wimp.
  • Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!, dbr9tifosi (guest) wrote 14 years ago:
Hands down, the most thrilling and fun ride in DCA. Only drawback is that the ride is too short.
  • Heimlich's Chew Chew Train, dbr9tifosi (guest) wrote 14 years ago:
Dude, what a waste of space. Vegetation are dying and the ride offers nothing. I expect this kind of rides at county fairs, not at a place like this.
  • Lucky Fortune Cookery, dbr9tifosi (guest) wrote 14 years ago:
Probably the best place to eat in both parks. And that's not saying much. Typical Disney food, overpriced and under whelming but it's all relative. Still, the best food at both parks.
  • The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel's Undersea Adventure, dbr9tifosi (guest) wrote 14 years ago:
For all the hype, this rise was a downer. Too much disconnect between the scenes and not enough ambiance or emotion. Luckily I only had to wait 15 minutes in line during soft opening.

I ate there as a teen in '77, and again w/ my new wife in '87. Sorry to see it go. So well matched w/ the adjacent Alpine Motel.
